As part of its ongoing efforts to advance the medical field and enhance public health, the College of Medicine at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) participated in the 3rd International Scientific Conference on Mass Gathering Medicine, held under the title:
“Mass Gathering Medicine – The Arbaeen Pilgrimage as a Model”, organised by the Deputy Secretariat for Medical Affairs, Combatants, and Sacrifices, in collaboration with Al-Sibtayn and the Ministries of Higher Education and Health.
The college’s active academic contribution was represented by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, Dean of the College of Medicine, who participated in the opening research session, presenting a set of specialised scientific discussions on health crowd management and the medical challenges encountered during the millions-strong Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which stands as a unique model in community and emergency medicine.
The college further strengthened its academic presence by involving a number of medical students in the conference activities, in line with the university’s approach to integrating students into research and scientific events and enhancing their medical awareness, contributing to the development of skills and knowledge consistent with the latest global practices.
This scientific participation aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which emphasises ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. Through such initiatives, the university aims to contribute to the development of community health services and strengthen medical preparedness and response during major events.
