College of Islamic Sciences Holds Faculty Seminar on “The Unity of Being between Zaki Mubarak and Ma‘rouf Al-Rusafi”
The College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific seminar for faculty members titled “The Unity of Being between Zaki Mubarak and Ma‘rouf Al-Rusafi”, presented by Prof. Iyad Karim Al-Salahi, with the participation of a select group of the College’s faculty and researchers.
In his lecture, Prof. Al-Salahi explored the concept of the Unity of Being from two different perspectives, reviewing Zaki Mubarak and Ma‘rouf Al-Rusafi’s interpretations of the concept, highlighting their intellectual intersections and methodological differences. He also discussed the philosophical and literary backgrounds each thinker relied upon, as well as the influence of cultural and intellectual environments on shaping their viewpoints.
The seminar included a critical comparison of the two thinkers’ theses, focusing on the linguistic, literary, and philosophical aspects reflected in their works, and discussed how the concept evolved in modern Arab thought.
The session featured extensive scholarly discussions, with faculty members contributing questions and interventions that enriched the dialogue and deepened the research session.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the College expressed its gratitude to Prof. Iyad Karim Al-Salahi for his valuable lecture, affirming its commitment to continuing scientific activities that promote intellectual dialogue and strengthen the research environment within the College.
